The Tour of Flanders is a very popular road cycling. If you want to watch the race live, then you have to be in Flanders today, in the western part of Belgium. It will take around 262 km from Bruges to Ninove. One of the hot topic is that Lance Armstrong is joining the race today with RadioShack’s squad.
The 38-year-old withdrew from the Milan-San Remo race two weeks ago after picking up a stomach bug. The Texan, who finished 47th at last week’s Criterium International, is also set to compete at the Circuit de la Sarthe in France next week. Throughout his career, he has been known to be the most meticulous manager when it comes to his preparations, and many credit some of his seven Tour de France wins specifically to his advance knowledge of the course or conditions.
Armstrong isn’t expected to be in contention. But Americans Tyler Farrar (Garmin-Slipstream) winner of the final road stage in the Three Days of De Panne, and veteran George Hincapie (BMC), third in the Tour of Flanders in 2006, are considered second-tier favorites.
You can “googling” for another term for Tour of Flanders with Ronde van Vlaanderen, Tour de Flandres.
